The Co-Founders of Sustainable Square – Eric Hensel and Monaem Ben Lellahom participated in the 5th cycle of the Africa CEO Round-Table and Conference on Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (AR-CSRTM) in Lagos on the 19th and 20th November 2015 – The most prestigious annual Sustainability conference in Africa.

The AR-CSRTM 2015 themed under ‘From Corporate Governance to Sustainable Governance.’ Featured the Keynote address delivered by Prof. Mervyn King Chairman of the King Committee on Corporate Governance in South Africa and the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC).

 Sustainable Square has been a learning partner of the event since its first cycle.  This year our team assisted with expertise on agenda inputs, presented topics related to engagement strategies, balanced scorecard, African roadmap for sustainability, and presented the key learnings from the conference.

Eric Hensel delivered a key note focusing on the “impact of employees’ engagement on strengthening the internal governance mechanisms of organizations”. Whereas Monaem Ben Lellahom delivered a key note on “Matching Governance Requirements with stakeholder expectations from a disclosure and materiality perspective.”

Monaem also delivered a closing note presenting the AR-CSRTM 2015 Scorecard – highlighting the takeaways of the conference including a roadmap for sustainable governance in Africa.

The event has also featured the launch of the Foundation for Sustainability and Responsibility in Africa (FSRA). The platform assigned a board representing top experts from the Africa continent including Chairwomen Ini Onuk – CEO of the Thistle Praxis Consulting and AR-CSRTM and Vice Chairman – Monaem Ben Lellahom – founding partner Sustainable Square.
