Water management experts warn that the water crisis in Bengaluru could escalate into a similar crisis like the water scarcity seen in Cape Town, South Africa. Though water management experts, hydro-geologists and socio-environmental enthusiasts argue against the magnitude of the water scarcity problem projected, experts and academics alike are not refuting the increasing water tanker culture, dependence on Cauvery water and the unsustainable solutions being pursued.
Our expertise comes from understanding the ground reality of the water nexus (Figure-1) towards socio-environmental impacts and how impact investments and partnerships can aid in the delivery of sustainable solutions.
Accordingly, Sustainable Square India, have invited water experts, implementation agencies-NGOs,Volunteer groups and CSR Managers and Foundation Heads to a round-table meetup on UN World Water Day on the 22nd of March 2018, to ideate and commit to actionable tasks in the upcoming water management projects.
Our event focuses on the following outcomes:
- To facilitate small changes internally and deliver positive impact in water management
- To establish a collective commitment for sharing appropriate resources, and to enhance corporate volunteering while working to strengthen community governance initiatives.
- To commit to the co-creation of focused impact, increasing peer to peer learning, and to enhance the visibility and competency of NGOs and volunteering groups.
- To facilitate upcoming projects and to allocate key resources, volunteers and support where needed.
